Reporting Database v2

The Reporting Database v2 is a version of the Reporting Database based on database replication.

What's new on the Reporting Database v2

The Reporting Database v2 has an architecture designed to overcome possible performance issues, since it is based on database replication.

A set of Altitude uCI Server database tables is available in a replication database, so that customers can query the tables directly for reporting purposes.

For the reference of the database tables, please check Replication database tables.

If you have custom-developed plugins for the Reporting Database v1, please check How to use plugins in Reporting Database v2 to see how you can reuse your plugins in the Reporting Database v2.

Flat tables

Flat tables are database tables that the Reporting Database exports and contain predefined columns about interactions, contacts, etc.

The Reporting Database v2 generates the same flat tables as the Reporting Database v1, from stored procedures that will run periodically in the replication database, fetching data from the replicated database tables and processing it in SQL Server.

At every interval period, the stored procedures join data from the replicated database tables, process data, and fill the flat tables.

Customers that are querying the flat tables can continue to use their existing queries.

For the reference of the flat tables, please check Flat tables.

Attention

  • By default, the generation of flat tables is disabled. To enable the generation of flat tables, please see How to enable flat tables.
  • Flat tables are only available for SQL Server databases.
